Dark Aqua trucks
Didn't want to hijack the "Dark Green Trucks" thread but I was wondering if anyone have pics of Dark Aqua trucks? This was a 1966 only metallic color. I think I've only ever seen one. Looks like a really neat color.... then again, I like green. Some don't.

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
Not sure if this is right, but I saw it at a car show recently, and it looks like it should be called that.

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
This was mine restored it frame off to look like my Dads around 1998 with almost everything purchased NOS from the 1970's. 1966 C10 longbox 283 with PG, factory air, nos factory ps kit from GM, NOS power brake kit from GM with PB pedal pad. NOS rubber floor mat too. I really don't know why I sold it. But did on a weak moment.

Guess you gotta be a dues-payin' member to host a club (I'm not anymore). Maybe someone else will take it up again.

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
I remember we used DuPont base clear on it at the time. It looked good in the sunlight. Very dark almost dark blue in the shade though. I lost my hard drive file with all my frame off pictures and the one below is the only one I had with it about all done. I think I had just the chrome rear sport bumper to install. Even had a new take off tailgate with mint original chains with grey covers that went on this one. That gate was a beautiful new take off saddle gold metallic with off white letters that had been stored in my neighbors house since new. I still could cry over using that one for this truck. This truck was one of the best restored originals I have ever seen and everything was mint original or NOS on it. I heard it went back east in 2002 has anyone seen it?

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
It seems every year in the 60-66 era had a rare or uncommon. Dark Aqua for '66 is one of those colors. Here is one that was recently on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1966-...exp=true#v4-40

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
I like the green also, do not see many of them, we did a modification of the paint on my truck ,, used a stock light green, replaced the white in the formula to metalic silver, and the solid yellow to a transparent yellow. Had to use a white sealer under it, but the original color shows thru, but it has more shine because of the metalic silver......Kieth

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
This supposedly original paint Dark Aqua Custom Camper truck from Ebay popped up in another thread but I thought photos definitely belonged here, too.

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
Sodly - this one came up again fairly recently as you know, made it up to 16.9k with reserve not met (I think) - anyone know if it ever sold? This was a very nice original truck - would've loved to have bought I, but a little outta my price range (ok, a lot, but still... ) One of my favorites. Had not seen many dark aqua trucks and was about to start a thread - glad I googled on the site first! Great pics, would love to see some more. I have to admit I like it a little more when it looks blue-ish than green-ish, but all depends where the light hits it. Hotfun, beautiful truck you have.

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
Sodly, for me this is one that got away. I talked to the guy, was his dad's, original paint and bed, had original rims. If I could find that truck again, I would buy it. Frank

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
That was a nice original, minus the wheels. Went to see it when it was on ebay since it was only about 60 miles away. (All four original 2 piece 16" wheels and hubcaps were along side the garage) The original paint did have a lot of fine scratches along side the body, but still acceptable, it was indeed a cool color to see. There was some thinning on the hood, black primer was beginning to show thru. It had an aftermarket ac system installed in seventies when Sears and Montgomery Wards still did that type of work. Hopefully it shows up on this site someday.

Re: Dark Aqua trucks
I had archived some pics of an original dark teal C10 longbed that went up on CL about this time last year . It sold within a few days for about 5k, as I remember. I think someone got a great deal.
