66 A/C Cab SWB Sale Help
Hey guys...Okay, so I recently acquired another Shortbed Fleetside A/C cab truck and I'm thinking about selling it. I already have an A/C cab truck that I'm buried in and although I'd love to build a second one for the wife...I've been offered some money for this one. Before I pull the trigger and pass the title over, I wanted some input. I've been offered $7000. Do you guys think that's a fair price. It's still a project, but here's some details.
Pros: Rebuilt 305 with powerglide going in this weekend. No miles on it yet. Big Window All Harrison internals are present Under dash ash tray present Uncut Dash/Doors Complete, solid truck (One pin hole section of rust on driver door) New Front Inner Fenders C-Notched Shaved gas filler hole Misc new parts "Custom" cab trim sails included New white wall tires On drums, but includes later frt disc brake spindles/rotors/calipers/etc. Power steering conversion included as well. Just needs frame bracket for box Cons: Original Shortbed Fleetside, but bed itself is a cut down longbed. Needs Rear window Needs head/tail light wiring Doors replaced and need trim holes drilled No body moldings No gas tank - Needs relocated tank Needs Bed wood I just shot some primer on it to prevent any rust since I live near the ocean. Needs minor bodywork and paint Basically, a great project with a ton of potential to be a very cool, rare air conditioned cab truck. So, back to my question...is $7k decent? I'll get some more pics too. These are just the ones I had on my phone. The truck is now all primered that buff color. Of course the hood is included. |

Re: 66 A/C Cab SWB Sale Help
Personally I think $7,000 is a real good price. You wouldn't get that in my neck of the woods. Im not knocking the truck by any means, guys just wont pay it for partially complete trucks around here.
The flip side is you say its almost rust free, which in itself is extremely hard to find on a truck this old. And that would make me want to hang on to it. The things it needs for completion are really minor from your lists. Guess my question is...what would it cost you to locate and purchase a comperable truck when your ready for the 2nd build if you get rid of it? Rust free BBW cabs w/factory AC are hard options to find in a rust free truck here in NC and I'd probably keep it for those reasons.

Re: 66 A/C Cab SWB Sale Help
Yeah I honestly thought that $7k was a bit generous, but that's what he threw out there. I definitely won't complain He's a friend of a friend and that's the only part that worries me. Sometimes that's more of a hassle later on. Guess he wasn't having any luck finding one that fit his style, so my buddy told him I had one he could make his style. We'll see how it goes. Maybe I'll put it up for trade and see what kind of cool stuff comes my way. I'm in no rush, so I suppose it doesn't hurt to test the waters. Besides, the wife will just burn the money if it lands back in the bank. LOL!

Oh man that looks like a super nice truck.
I would say it's worth 7k as it sits assuming there is nothing but metal under that primer and it really is that straight. |

She's very solid. I replaced a cab corner and small piece of one of the rockers. All that needs just a touch of rust work is the lower drivers side door. Very minor. Aside from that, I know there's some filler here and there, but nothing unusual from what I can tell. We'll see what happens. Gonna test the trade waters after I drop the motor in this weekend. Thanks for the feedback.
