Big Brake Kits
Since moving to 20" wheels, I've been looking at big brake kits (sticker shock).
Baer and Wilwood are out of the picture because of price (they look really nice, just can't justify the price) So I'm looking at CPP and Mcgaughy. They are similar in price and was wondering what people who have them thought and are they worth it?

CPP at least coats their rotors so they won't rust right away.
McGaughy's sends them out raw. I consider either kit about the same. Look at board vendors for good deals on these.

I'm talking with Nate Porter on the CPP stuff and Travis at Pro Performance on the McGaughys stuff.
One thing I don't like with McGaughys is I have to mill the center of the rear axle down. That and they don't coat the products. I like that CPP comes with the modular spindles too.

Im installing a McGaughys 4 wheel big brake kit on two trucks and I ended up getting them coated. each kit was $1400

A few things I can tell you about mine. Pros: -very easy to install -great powdercoated finish -rear conversion was very simple -ebrake is set up nice Cons: -calipers are remanufactured, which is fine but at nearly 2k you would hope for new. Nor is noted anywhere I found. -rear calipers are from an 80s Lincoln, again fine but not noted that I saw -the spindles come completely assembled to you all the way to the dust caps, which is nice but the spindles are raw cast so you need to disassemble for paint/powdercoat -dust caps fall out of hub just sitting in the garage -had to drill out e brake sleeve to fit e brake cable -rear brake lines went in the garbage, I'm better off bending my own -2 of the u shape brake clips broke Weigh your options when there is more cons then pros. It is a nice looking product and like most aftermarket things takes a little finesse. Posted via Mobile Device

My fronts had some big gouges in them, not real noticeable
