Re: LIVE bidding from Lambrecht auction on now

This just reinforces my thinking that people are stupid when it comes to auctions, 425.00 for a 65 malibu ss script. You could buy the same NOS piece any other time for 100.00. 50K on a Apache that needs 50 K in restoration and will sell for 50K, great investment. The people that buy this stuff either have more money than brains or like losing 80% of there original investment.

There is about a one minute delay from the audio versus the realtime bidding

Apparently it's quite a dangerous situation there in Nebraska. Lots of slippery gray matter all around from people completely losing their minds. LOL.

Re: LIVE bidding from Lambrecht auction on now

They advertised a truck as new with 5 actual miles!!!! Later down in the description was posted "cluster gone", sure enough in the photos the clutter was missing from the dash. I called them out on it and they said they were told it had 5 miles. I asked by whom and they said they family, the kids. I responded the same kids that were like ten when this truck would have been new. There is about 500 vehicles, how could they possible remember the mileage? Answer was that is what they told us .

I fell out of the chair laughing !,,,

Risky business bidding on something you cant look at ,then getting it home and finding out it is not even as good as the truck down the street you can buy for 3000.....

the mystery person
o****e is "onsite". On Proxibid auctions it means it was purchased by one of the many buyers that was at the live auction in person rather than an online bidder.

Auctions are for the most part the worst place to buy something and the Best place to sell them

Not really. The buyers wanted what they were bidding on. They bought more than a piece of iron. Now they paid dearly for it, but to them it was worth it to be in the spotlight.

Re: LIVE bidding from Lambrecht auction on now

This whole thing was built up WAY more than it was. I saw news stories, online articles and even newspaper articles about what a diamond in the rough everything was. A title brand new vehicles preserved by a dealer. Well I found the rough, still waiting for the diamond. This guy IMO was a complete A-hole. If you have all that money or even all of those brand new vehicles, why wouldn't you sell a few off to build a warehouse pole barn, fence to keep thieves out SOMETHING. This whole collection is a glorified junk yard. Sure you may be the first owner of a 50's or 60's car today, but does it really have any value other than parts? From what I saw not many of them do. Hey it is what it is but I just think it is a shame all of those could be gems are rubble.

Well said, Bob! I completely agree, and I called BS on this auction months ago, when the auction company was being vague on certain details. On one Impala, they said that the VIN tag "fell off". Another was claimed to have 5 miles, but had no cluster. The fishy excuses went on and on. The hype was so high that I had a feeling that it would draw the rich idiots out of the woodwork.

You can have a car with zero miles on it, but when it sits in a damp warehouse or out in a field for 45 years, and the VIN tag is gone, it becomes a low-mileage parts car.

P.T. Barnum was right. There's a sucker born every day.
