Bringing back the origional ride

What do I need to replace in order to bring back the origional ride and handling on my 34 yr old truck? Actually, an improvement in handling would be nice, but I'm mostly interested in improving the ride. None of the rubber (body or frame) has been replaced on the old girl, and I want to spend my money wisely. Anyone notice real improvement with replacing the cab mounts? As always, the help is appreciated and usually acted upon.

easiest things to improve ride are shocks and sway bars....

but if the bushings are shot, the best shocks and swaybars are a worthless investment. i'd vote to replace all of the suspension bushings, as well as the body mount bushings. that should give the truck a much tighter feel right off the bat. then you cna look into replacing springs, shocks, and sway bars.

like he said....cab mounts and bushings are a biggie. On a truck that's 34 years old, the factory rubber mounts are cracked and maybe even gone in some cases. I got a cab mount kit from Chevy Duty for around $65 that was all urethane. Energy Suspension sells urethane bushing kits the entire front end. To do it up right and be happy, plan on spending probably $400 for springs and shocks all the way around, then the cab mount kit and suspension bushings. That'd be your best bet. I'm sure there are board members who sell cab mounts and suspension bushing kits too. Keep the $$ with the board members (bought my stuff before I found this board
