where to fill this tranny
I am getting ready to put some gear lube in this here tranny and transfer case but I'm not sure how much and where to fill it at.
I have an SM465 and a Rockwell 221 I believe. I am guessing that you fill it till it comes back out but I need to know where to fill it and if there are any tricks to it. Thanks guys.

theres a little bolt on the side, square head, fill it untill it runs out a little... dont ask me HOW to do it though, i havent found an easy way

How Do You Do That?
Is there a separate fill for the transfer case or should it just go right in? You wouldn't have an idea of how many bottles of this crap I should buy do ya? Thanks for the help.

do yourself a favor and a get a suction gun it is a cylinder with a slide on it (to create the suction) andit has a hose on the end its the only easy non totally messy way to fill a rear or a manual tranny

not sure on the t-case but now that you mention it i need to check mine... im pretty sure theres a seal in there so you have to fill it seperate

So, I know someone has done this once before.
What I need the most is to know whether or not I will need to fill the transfer case separate or not. Good idea on the suction deally, I will get one of those.

Blue 71 has you covered on the T case. there is a seal tween the trans & case.....they fill separately. Dont ask me on the lube tho! I am running 30 weight motor oil in the t case on my 78 K 20. it hasnt caused any problems, so I guess its ok. good luck,crazyL

Ya know what, I think that answered everything. I guess I was just hoping that someone could tell me exactly what I wanted to hear but if I'd learn to read the message I could probably figure it out myself.

on the square bolt there, take it out, if you can touch fuid with your pinky finger, you dont need any more my friend!! Thats just on the tranny though------ killerbee!!

well I just filled both of 'em up.
If I did this right, the tranny took a gallon of this crap and the transfer case took about half a gallon or less. I don't think I coulda screwed it up but on my Rockwell 221 there are two sqare headed bolts about and inch apart on top of each other. I am guessing the bottom one to be the drain plug and the top of the two to be the filler.
