Need a new fuel tank
I am in need of a new gas tank and was wondering what would be the cheapest place to get one at. So far the cheapest I have found is on ebay. It is around $167 shipped. I would like to get one locally but I haven't been able to track down one in good condition yet (I live in St. Louis). I would try looking at some junk yards or locally more but I don't have any way to bring it back so need it delivered. I am looking for the stock gas tank with EEC for my 72 C10. Any ideas? Thanks!

That's the ebay auction I saw. Brothers is $79 for shipping so much more than that one. I had a quote for $150 at a nearby shop but have to check on that. |

Re: Need a new fuel tank
If you are looking to go stock, I'd say there are some members on this site who would let you have one for little of nothing. VWNate has a few I think. Try him.
I got my '72 stock tank renewed and I've heard that's the way to go. |

Re: Need a new fuel tank
Aren't 72 EEC tanks different from other year EEC tanks?

Re: Need a new fuel tank
I'm in need of a tank for my '69 cab. I went to the ebay page and entered my truck's year model and it said that it was "not compatible". I thought the 67-72 tanks were the same. What gives?

Wideside72,
I'm not sure I'm following you. What exactly do you mean by not mixing the tube and cap? Do the EEC tanks require a Evap Canister? Danny |

Re: Need a new fuel tank
Does anyone know if one of the street rod fuel cells would work with a 1970 C20 with the 350? I have been contemplating purchasing one and hiding it away in the bed of my truck but I am not 100% sure what fuel pump/etc. I should use with it.

Re: Need a new fuel tank
Lots of threads on that here.
but why put a filler cap in your bed? Beds are for hauling. Put it out your sidemarker or tailight. There is a guy here who makes those. |

Figured it would be a unique and interesting way to do it, just not sure if it is possible..... The fill neck wouldn't be in the bed at all it would come out the driver side of the box..... I gotta look at it more to see if it is possible still or not but just one of the wild ideas I came up with one night after work |

Don't forget about these guys. If you are converting to a rear tank or fuel injection system.
