1963 Short step build
I was sorting through some pictures of my 63 build and thought that I would post a few pictures of the work I have completed over the past few years. The first pictures I will post are the console that i installed from a mid 90's Eldorado. I am running the Eldo seats as well. I went with this set up because the double din radio opening matched the ash tray and the heater control square style opening and the head rests of the seats followed the contour of the dash really well. I'm not sure that this seat up has ever been done before in a 60-63 but i'm pretty happy with it.

Re: 1963 Short step build more custom console and seat pics
A few more pictures of the interior build. I cut out and custom build with sheet metal the opening in the dash to accept the top of the console. I was able to fabricate this so the original upper console mounts where used. I then extended the console with fiberglass to fit the firewall and used 1/8 plywood covered with fiberglass to fit the contour of the floor. I ended up ordering a few extra yards of carpet to cover the sides of the console. I ended up running a lokar cable operated shifter for the 700r4 transmission. The 14" shifter ended up at the height I was looking for.
