Re: T56 Trans swap?

Basics...
1. Lt1 t56
2. Adapter flywheel
3. Hydraulic clutch
4. Maybe a different driveshaft
5. Either bucket seats or a shifter relocation kit for the t56
That being said is it just that easy? No but is it hard? No depending on what you pay for the tranny you'll probably be in it 2000-2500$ 1200-1700 for tranny 200+ clutch 450 for flywheel $ for hydraulic pedal set plus master n slave and adapters. Youll have to use a speedo adapter. Thats another 300. Off the top of my head... I did mine on a budget. And I'm still In it about 1500 with a couple big breaks being $50 buckets and a $600 t56 and reusing the clutch and pp that came with it

Re: T56 Trans swap?

You can also use an LS1 t56. There's a $200 adapter plate and $25 pilot bearing available that allows you to bolt the LS style trans to the original SBC bell housing and retain the SBC flywheel/clutch/linkage. I'm just about to do this swap, and relocate the shifter to the forward location to clear my bench seat.
