Carburetor Fuel Inlet Stripped
The threads in my Carb are stripped where the fuel line attaches. I took it to a Carb shop and was told to just get a Deeper Fitting since only the first three threads are stripped. NAPA couldn't find anything nor could J&M Speed Shop. Anybody have any ideas? I'm in Riverside, CA. Thanks.

Re: Carburetor Fuel Inlet Stripped
IF this is the fuel filter housing fitting going into carb, cheapest way is to coat thread's on adaptor with jb weld and leave filter out . install a inline filter in the fuel line . i use regular jb weld ,not the quick set. Then you won't have to remove that fitting for any reason by leaving the filter out.Otherwise a different carb or top half. If you do this it has to set up overnight or a certain amount of time on instruction's on jb weld. I have done this before , and it is gas resistant.

Re: Carburetor Fuel Inlet Stripped
Any epoxy or Teflon tape you use will eventually degrade with the gasoline. I'd look for an oversize kit, heli coil or other type of repair. Maybe take it to a machine shop and have them machine the threads to the next size if carb hasn't had this done before. http://quadrajetparts.com/fuel-inlets-a-1.html
