Steel Wheels
There really is no one section to ask about wheels. Since its for my 65 I'm asking it here.
I was on Ebay and found some steel wheels in a different bolt pattern, since their steel can the be welded up and redrilled for the 8x6.5" bolt pattern? These:http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVROLET-GM...544be1&vxp=mtr I've seen both the 17" and 18" fairy cheap, otherwise I can get adapters made for $124.00 per pair.

Re: Steel Wheels
No you can't just weld up the original holes and drill new ones......it's not that simple.

Re: Steel Wheels
I wouldn't do it myself that would be nuts. Adapters it shall be and still cheaper then buying new rims.

Re: Steel Wheels
I have earlier (cannot remember the years) Ford 8 lug on my 66 C20. They had Ford stamped on them but I ground that off carefully, then had them sandblasted and I painted them. Same exact bolt pattern, but they are lug-centric, not hub-centric, meaning that the lug nuts are what center the wheel, not the hub. The hub hole is about 1/4" or so larger than the Chevy rims, so it's not much of a difference.
Just one of the hundreds of small details I have learned. |

Re: Steel Wheels
I know to only buy the good billet adapters. I bought them for my 64 El Camino to use Olds Intrigue wheels on it which are now on my S10. When I was pricing out tires I found the cheapest 16.5 tires were still $163.00 each and are just ugly. That's why I will end up buying the 18's. But Nissan NV wheels are 8 x 6.5" and are 17 x 7.5".
