Wiper Blades?

I have tried a couple brands of wiper blades on my 65 C20 with no luck finding any that stay on. I have had the truck only a few weeks but since I've been taking it to cruise nights I figured working wipers should be among the items taken care of.

So far every one I have tried is too loose to stay on the wiper arm. This past week I figured the wiper arms were wrong so purchased some replacements but still have the same problem. The arm is too narrow and thin to have the pin on the arm stay in the wiper. I double checked for missing adapters in the wiper packaging and verified the wiper is the one recommended by the manufacturer.

So what does everyone else use? or should I start making an adapter to be able to use the ones I found already?

they made wide and narrow arms ....our trucks have the narrow ones so the blade holders have to match if not there where adapters back in the day i don't know if they are still available

You can buy good quality arms AND blades made by Trico. May hafta search online for the correct numbers and take them to local parts stores, like Advance or AutoZone or others who sell Trico products--they'll likely not have these numbers, but they can order them. **I'd get the type arm that has an adjustable "tip", about the last 1.5" of the arm. It lets you adjust the angle so that blades lie flat and horizontal--parking parallel with your lower windshield. The ones I've ordered from like LMC are cheesy and park at an ugly angle!

Trico was one of the brands I tried... their Exact Fit line in fact. No adapter was included and they most definitely were for a wider / thicker bayonet. My replacement arms came from LMC and they are at the perfect angle.
The only brand wiper I could find that included the adapter were Anco and no one within 30 miles stocked the 13" size.

I ended up cheating and made up my own adapters on a 3D printer.

See it's not the wiper arm that wears out, just the blade. My old boss at the autoparts store I was working for gave me some old wipers that I removed the rubber blade from the newer style arm and replaced the worn blade on my original arms. Cheap and easy. Just have to cut the rubber to length.

Last arms I bought at a local autoparts shop came with those push-in adapters...pretty sure they were Aamco

Just changed mine. Anco 31-13. You have to check to make sure the little adaptor piece is in the package. I use to get them at O'Riley's or Auto Zone. They seem to be into Trico now. I picked up the last set at Wal-Mart. I've been saving the old adaptors when I change out the blades now just in case......
