power brake conversion
I am buying a summit power brake kit P/N CLP-6772BB2-11 , it comes with everything except the pedal rod, how much of a difference in length is the power brake set up than manual, i thought i would just lengthen my older one and use it

Re: power brake conversion
The man. set up on the m/c has the rod kinda made on to it similar to that of a later booster. the booster has a lot longer rod because it is mounted way out on the firewall with that weird bracket thing between the fw and the booster. If you are mounting the booster flush on the fw like a late model would so it looks better the rod of course would then be shorter but by how much it is a trail and error thing unless [and I don't ]have measurements

Re: power brake conversion
The Summit pic is incorrect, you'll get a repop of the orig 11" booster set up. It'll bolt right up to your truck. The rod is part of the booster.

Re: power brake conversion
Go to the upper left hand corner of the home page of this site, and then click on tech tips and then go to our trucks 67-72 and there you will find a post about changing to power brakes on trucks that are not so equipped. There is a wealth of info in the tech tips sections both the trucks and the paint and other that are broken down so when you get a chance drop in there and see whats up. You will be so glad that you did, you will be glad you did and maybe even your truck will thank you. Jim
