newbie here
Hi! I am wondering about what route to go about restoring my 67 C20 fleetside longbed. It came from the factory with yellow paint 04550AD. Would it hurt the value to paint it a different color? I really don't like yellow. Also it has the metal foor in the bed, would it also hurt the value to replace with a wood floor? The truck is a California truck and the body is in very nice condition the bed is superb, I believe that most of the last 46yrs it had a camper in the bed! Anyway I really like the look of a wood floor bed, just kinda hate to take out a near perfect metal floor, I guess I could put it away for future use. Thanks for any and all imput

Re: newbie here
Welcome to the site. Pictures are very much desired here so we can all take a look and give you some honest opinion.
How much a particular change from factory original will change or effect the overall value of the truck is subject to many many opinions. If you are liking the truck and do not want to make it a showroom perfect numbers matching restoration, than I think you can do what you want and no one will give you a hard time. Add some pictures and let us see what you have!

Re: newbie here
Thanks all! I will try to post pics in the future. as for keeping a numbers match the 327 has been replaced with a 350 so it won't be a numbers match truck, so I guess anything goes! also was there a custom camper option in '67? this truck has the 3 tanks with the switching valve. doesn't have anything on the option tag in glove box about a camper option.

Check into the "Show Deck" system. You can have a wood bed and not mess with your original bed. They look great.... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=455267 LockDoc
