Re: pics of custom seats or bench or buckets. what cha got???
And oh yeah...these seats are nice and comfy, too! With these seats, factory pickup bucket seats tracks would be easier to use because of the floor contour however, I didn't have or could find a set at the time so....I used 2 sets of bench seat tracks and shortened them all down about 4" and re-drilled a couple holes in each seat frame to accept them.
Then, rather than drill a big hole in the hole and try a nut/bolt operation, I opted to go for a factory look again by drilling a hole, welding a nut on the underside and using the same sized seat bolt to secure them to the floor. On seat and seatbelt bolts, I dip the tips of the bolts inwheel bearing grease so they go in nice and it helps prevent rust from the outside. From underneath, once the welds cooled, I plugged the threads and undercoated the nuts also. |

1992 Silverado bench. Very comfortable. I used some 2" angle to modify the stock bracket to hold the (88-94) seat.

I have this same seat in my 82. It was a excellent choice for me for my long legs. It fits the truck well also and looks like it was made to fit in there. |

Re: pics of custom seats or bench or buckets. what cha got???
Older thread, sure, but I would rather do this than start a new one!
Pulled these from a 1982 Sierra at the yard today. I was surprised to find them, and in such good condition. They should be a direct bolt in. They are aftermarket seats "Kustom Fit" brand. They appear to be TRANSPORT II" TRUCK SEAT MODEL 5360 http://www.kustomfit.com/pickup_truck_seating.htm Anyone know the retail for these? I'm going to get them recovered and install them, but I'm curious what they go for.

F*rd Exploder seats with a 2010 chevy center console. Really comfortable seats if you can find a set. Similar to the ones in the late model powerstrokes.

Re: pics of custom seats or bench or buckets. what cha got???
Lots of nice looking options above….
I went with 1989-91 Suburban buckets recovered in later model fabric (the center is 2010 GMC fabric and the outer vinyl is 2010 RAM material).

Re: pics of custom seats or bench or buckets. what cha got???
Here's a picture of some (very rare) Cadillac Sixty Special seats installed in my 1990 Suburban. These were ideal seats to install because they are true bucket seats rather than the 60/40 seats commonly found in other Cadillacs of the same vintage. The width of the seats were perfect and there is even a narrower spot on the seat to clear for the Suburban seat belts. I welded a flat bar across the seat rails so I could use the existing holes on the Suburban. The next thing I've got to do is dye the seats black and install the Cadillac seat switch adjusters. I'll probably install those on the door panel just like the Cadillacs.
As far as comfort, they are by far the most comfortable seats I have even sat on for a long trip.
