Re: sbc to bbc

also what would i be better doing fuel injecting the motor i built and changing the cam in the bbc and droping it in my nova or giving the truck the bbc the way it is and giving the nova the sbc out of the truck. the bbc is dynoed at 353 hp 493 ft/lbs tq and the sbc i have no idea its a 30 over with 10.25:1 cr with vortech heads and mild cam. the sbc is original to the truck and ill more than likely have both cars forever. im looking for what ever option make the truck the most enjoyable nova gets the handme downs.

Re: sbc to bbc

Some say something about the heater box. May have to take it out. But I dont know for sure. think only when using tall valve covers. Dad used to swap mine out from sbc to bbc all the time back in the day. Just the motor mount stands and exhaust were the issues. go for it. original? so? Throw it to the side for later if anything. Have some fun. Original will make it just like the rest lol

Heater box wasn't an issue for me. I had to redrill and move everything back 2.5" back. PITA

Re: sbc to bbc

I used motor mounts from POL (Performance Online) . I bolted them in the front set of holes. No valve cover or HEI problems. I don't have a lot of room for electric fans with a 4 row radiator, but I found a set that should work. I used Hedman full length big tube headers and had to do a little frame massaging, but they do hang pretty low for a dropped truck.
