GMC rarity?

is it me or is there a certain amount of rarity for the GMC version of these years?

I was at the pomona swap meet tis morning, and I saw probably 30 or so trucks for sale. But not one of them was a GMC. They had chevys from every year in every kind of condition, but not one GMC, much less a 67 GMC suburban like mine. I was a little bummed out because I wanted to look and get ideas from some, but at the same time a little thrilled that I was somewhat alone.

I think the accepted number is 1/3 the production of Chevy's production numbers.
Some areas seem to have more GMCs than others.

Up here in Saskatchewan, I seem to see just as many GMC's as I do Chevy's, if not more.

Here are production figures for Chev/GMC trucks etc. made in Canada up to 1973. I realize that I have one of the relatively rare years (1970) for 67-72 GMC trucks, that is, its the year that the least amount were made.
Only about 16,000. I wonder how many are left on the road.

I just parted out a '70 GMC 2500 two wheel drive and there are only two GMC's in a local junkyard out of about twenty chevys. Both of those are '69-70 trucks and 1500 two wheel drives.

There's 4 or 5 2wd GMCs running around my area, a couple here in the navy yard. Probabaly see 25 Chevys. And no 4wd GMCs!
