What temp thermostat

So I'm changing my thermostat some people tell me to 180 some people say 195 I don't know which one I'm at the store now they have both in stock. Someone please chime in thanks

I prefer a 180. But up north your heat will be better with a 195 and itll take a little bit for the engine to warm up.

I run a 180.. In Ct. too..No problem with heat, and I don't have a blower..lol

In olden days, sometimes people would change the thermostat with the change of the seasons. I use 160 degree T stat because I am more concerned with overheating in the desert, and it does that job well, but I have all new AC Delco water pump, fan clutch, etc.

remember a t stat controls how long the water sits in the radiator , and the block disapaiting and absorbing heat, if you go to cold, it will not give the water in the rad time to cool and won't allow the water in the engine time to absorb the heat out of the block. 195 should be fine, its not a performance engine and warmer engines are more efficient.
