Installing LCA bump stops - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have asked quite a few people now and it seems everyone just leaves the old ones in, or replace them with something different when redoing the LCAs. Well I bought stock type bumpstops for my LCA's, and I got the driver's side in with lots of effort, basically used a little oil on the bottom and a jack to raise the LCA and compress the bumpstop, then pull on the bottom to try and get it to stay. What is the CORRECT way to install these? They are really stiff rubber, so just pulling on them with your fingers is tough. I've tried a few different things to get them in. Problem really is that the mount angles down on the LCA mount, and the rubber is flat, so it makes it that much harder to pop it into place.

Anyone know the correct way to do this?

I put a piece of wood between bumpstop and crossmember and the released my jack dropping the weight of the truck on the bumpstop. My truck kept spitting the bumpstop out so I eventually swapped to bolt in style.

i put in boiling water for 5 or 10 minutes to make them soft and pliable
