Newbie with 65 Long fleet..many questions.
Let me start by saying what a great community this is!
I have a 65LBFleet.. It has 255/70/15 all around and I like the size and wheels. I am going to do a disc brake conversion and stick with the 6 lug. My question is around dropping the truck a bit. How far can I go with this size tire. I don't know if I should go with a drop spindle or just the coils. Is there a performance difference on handling with drop spindles? My thought is to try and go 3" in the front and 4" in the back and keep a bit of rake. I have looked at all the pictures in the static drop thread, but not many long bed with tire size mentioned. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks Guys! |

Your before pic is the exact stance my truck has. 2 1/2 front seems perfect maybe ill go 3" in the rear. Any bumps, rubs or scrapping? Awesome looking truck!

My only caution with drop spindles would be do a little research, some of them will widen the front track which can be an issue with wheel offsets, I put McGaughy spindles on mine and ran into this problem, I believe CPP spindles don't have this issue. Maybe someone with cpp spindles will comment on this. |

Re: Newbie with 65 Long fleet..many questions.
Welcome to the forum. It's good to see more longbeds. I'm going with a static drop. 2 1/2" drop spindles and 1" coils in front and 5" drop coils in the rear. I can't help you with tire size or the stance since it's down to the frame right now but I'll be happy to help with future questions if I can. Good luck.

Mike, we NEED pics, it's a requirement.
BBW or small? I'm a fan of the LB with BBW.
