Bubba
This build thread is for now for ideas. I have a 1979 Chevy C10 (scottdale). The truck came with the name Bubba from the prior owner who I knew.
Specs that I know: Engine: 305 Transmission: its a auto haven't look to see what one it has. It has the 8 foot box on it. It originally had the option for fleetside tanks but did not have both tanks when i got it. What I have been thinking of doing and wanting to do is custom build a 383 stoker for the motor. With Elderbrock performer in take and carb. I have been thinking about finding a K frame for it. I want to find a step side box for it. I want to run stacks and the side right behind the cab (reason for step box is to remove the steps if needed) I also have been bouncing around the idea of putting a suburban front clip on if i can find one I like the looks of and maybe a custom grill and bumper. I have also thought of maybe putting a flat bed box on it. I am up for all ideas and opinions. This is currently how the truck looks (as of early this summer) The box is shot and it needs a lot of work but it is a project for me. |

Re: Bubba
More pictures of the truck from last fall. The parts are new. I am going to Rebuild the 305 that is in it right now as soon as the rest of the snow melts and i can move it without the yard being soup.

Re: Bubba
My current goals to start with for the project this spring/summer/fall is
Rebuild 305 and paint the block/oilpan/heads chevy orange Repaint Micky T valve covers (paint is flaking) Remove the box and send it down the road (it is beyond salavagable) Mount fuel tank Replace fuel lines Change fluid in the rear end and paint pumpkin cover Exhaust = glass packs Find rims i like and get white walled tires for it Find a body i like ( debating on maybe trying to find a 40's chevy body) Body color scheme orange and black Inerior Black Shifter = swan/goose neck shifter Find step box ( want a wood floor for it) Electric fan conversion Eldebrock Performer intake/Carb This is my current list of what i want to do. First step is to rebuild the engine and get rid of the box that is on it and mount the gas tank. I bought a new tank last summer and got it all undercoated and found straps and brackets for the tank and got those undercoated i just ran out of time to mount it before fall and winter came upon me. |
