Does anyone have a picture of...
A transmission oil cooler... the one inside the radiator? I need one to argue with a radiator company that claims they meet or exceed OEM.

I'm curious as I just went thru this with Bowtie on a 700r4 I purchased from them. My 70 1/2 ton has a two plate trans cooler located vertically on the passenger side of the radiator. It would'nt keep up. They wanted me to install a new one. radiator shop said that a new one was not available. It needed to be 12 1/2" btwn inlet and outlet. The newer ones were 4 plate but only 8 1/2" long. I didn't want to cut up my radiator so I convinced Bowtie to let me use an auxillary cooler. We searched the Summit on line catolauge together and selected the B&M plated cooler for 28000 GVW. I nstalled it last night but haven't really tested it but it seems to really help so far. I'll put it to the test later in the week. Anyway if you run the cooler on the return line and leave the stock radiator cooler in place you will still get the advantage of heating the fluid if needed which seemed to be what bowtie was hung up on. Now you know what i know. One more thing. Run an inline filter on the return line for the first 500 miles as recommended. I did't have one @ startup and now that is what is getting the blame for my shifting problems once Im got the heat handled. I'm removing and cleaning the valve body tonight and hope that fixes the thing.

No tranny expert here, but i would think that the extra filter would be a bad thing. Think of it as a restriction.
If they want better filtration....make a better in pan filter. |

not sure if this is what you need, but its a pic of the upper and lower fittings for the trans cooler that is inside the rad. Maybe it will help you.
