which rearend is better
I have two C-20's, one a 1969, the other is a 1970. The 1969 has coils with the round 14 bolt "corperate" rearend, the 1970 has a 14 bolt also but is not round. which is better, stronger? THe top pic is what the 69 has but with coil spring

Re: which rearend is better
12 bolt hands down. Stronger axles and better and cheaper parts availability with good aftermarket support which is lacking for the old eaton unit.

Re: which rearend is better
The left one is a eaton rear end has almost no aftermarket for it,The right picture i can't tell with out seeing the whole diff cover it could be a dana 60 not sure.Really any rear end other then that eaton will have a good aftermarket to be built as strong as you want it to be.

Re: which rearend is better
Little know fact. Almost all of the 14 bolt parts can be swapped into an Eaton HO52. There is a thread on it with the what fits and what needs adapted, and what looks like it won't, but does.
Eatons are about as strong as it gets, but the Gov Lock leave something to be desired.
