High Hump Tunnel
We are working on creating a high hump tunnel for all you guys running drop members, and just curious of the interest if we were to produce these. They would be made from a high strength nylon (or glass filled nylon), that would be equally as strong as fiberglass, if not stronger. This would be a bolt-in tunnel, and shaped just like the factory, with mounting holes and all. However, it would not have any holes in the top for shifters, etc.... we would leave that all smooth so that you can modify according to your build.
We are expecting these to be $275. I know this is more than you can buy a metal one for, but there would be no holes to fill or possible rust to deal with. Let us know your feedback, we would appreciate it. Thanks, Travis |

Price and material is the deal breaker for me.
Someone like Tri-Plus, Goodmark, Auto Metal Direct,... whoever,... needs to repop them in steel. I'll keep buying all the BB/auto high humps I can afford.

Thanks for the feedback! We would like to do them in steel ideally, but the tooling costs would be something just not feasible for us.

There is a old sane if you are going to make it and it is quality made .The price for $275.00 sounds more than fair to me.I say go for it.

I don't need one of these, but I'm curious what would be the problem with one made out of some sort of fiber glass or composite. Do they flex?

These come up for sale on the parts board frequently for around 70-80 with shipping included for a NICE one. I have yet to see one require enough work/repair to justify me spending 275 on a new one. Just my opinion.

I have got three projects of the 67-72 kind at my shop now, and one is a bb truck so it is a high hump the other two were not. But One will be a T-5 conversion and the other is a 454 t400 or 4L80E so I have already purchased used high humps for them with a $100 or so in both with the shipping. The difference is not worth a few hours of body time for clean up and fill and e-prime and high build to make extra slick. Great idea maybe the wrong time or ??? Jim

haha.... you got it. The cost to produce was just too high, especially being factory high humps can still be purchased for a decent price.
