To drop...or not.

Simple. Do I drop it or slam it or keep it old school? Not changing wheels at all but she drives real nice like this. Worth much more dropped you think? Build thread is in my signature.

Re: To drop...or not.

Looking at the title I had my answer already in my head.. HOWEVER after further deliberating with me, myself, and I, we have concluded that shes perfect as she sits.

Re: To drop...or not.

In my area people will often pay more for a lowered truck then stock height especially when it is a classic pre-smog.

So right now I am debating on what to do with my C20. Stock height roughly equals worthless, but slammed with my big motor I have stored I could get close to $3000.

Just not sure I want to sell it, and get a car. I am almost 40, work alot of hours, and am tired of tinkering on my "dependable" vehicle. I will figure it out later as I have a work van.

You know my answer. If you have any doubts look at what Yezzi does for a perfect example of how great a stock truck looks lowered.

Yezzi does some awesome work. I could only wish mine was as nice as his trucks.

Re: To drop...or not.

It just looks too nice stock. If you were going to put those ugly low profile wheel/tire combos on it, I say lower it. With those white wheels and caps it can only rock stock or such a subtle drop that people woud have to look more than twice to tell.

BTW that is a sweet truck for pre 80 Western Washington. I had to go post 80 to get away from terminal cancer rigs.

Re: To drop...or not.

looks good like it is keep pickin away at the little things. nice round eyed stepside its too easy to get more money into it than you can get for it.but if you have stuff kickin around or you can get a good deal on parts to lower it./do the work yourself. it might be cost effective for you to do it.you know it would look fcool slammed low.

Re: To drop...or not.

4-6 static and leave it alone. It will handle just as good if not better. You can always remove the drop if you want to go back to completely stock.

Only $40 with a 2" drop on 4 corners

If you did this and didnt like it, New coils are only like $50 on amazon. The shackles can be purchased at pretty much any auto parts store in town. Less than $100 if you didnt like it.

Re: To drop...or not.

Id do a small drop, 3/5 max. Only thing is id be afraid dropping it would amplify how sunken in the wheels look in the rear.

Re: To drop...or not.

if it was me, i'd leave it where it is (refreshing, instead of ANOTHER slammed 2wd) & run down to PugDad's & grab that matching canopy. around these parts, it's great having a canopy on in the winter. and it will look cool with the steelies & caps
like coryD says, you already got your '86 slammed, keep this an old man truck(sleeper....?)

Heck, if I had a reason to get down south to Everett I'd offer to drop my canopy and go to Tacoma and pick up the canopy for ya! That truck stock or close with the canopy would look SWEET.

Re: To drop...or not.

Maybe Somone can photochop the picture and we can get an idea.

I was thinking of getting new drop spindles up front and then a drop shackle in the rear since its already got a drop hanger on back to level it out.

Then I can get another set of half ton springs instead of the one ton springs in there now and have the half tons cut one coil.
Idk I gotta say it is refreshing haveing a square that isn't hugging the ground. Makes it stock but different.
