ABS - not that hard?

This is another one of those pipe dream things but, would it be all that difficult to put ABS on one of these trucks? (other than big $$$) From what I understand, it takes 3 sensors and the control/pump box. I don't know if you would have to change information in the ABS computer like caliper size, weight of the truck, blah, blah. But our '99 Tahoes system seems relitively simple with the electronics and pump in one box plus the sensors. Seems more like a modular system to me. I'm tired of locking up my brakes and would probably do so more WHEN I put on the rear disc brake conversion. (Years down the road).

I have no idea about ABS. I do know I wouldn't want them if I could. ABS sucks, IMO.

Here's your answer to locking the rears. Worked for me.

Can you get a picture of it installed in your truck Mike? I would really aperciate it.

BTW: ABS has saved me in more than one occasion in the Tahoe...

Tyler,

here is a pic of the LBS installed. It is mounted on the passenger side frame rail.

ABS is the most common factor in SUV rollovers. 90% of all rolled Blazers, Tahoes, and Suburbans is due to the driver slamming on the brakes while swerving at the same time, since the brakes don't lock up, they have full steering power, and turn so hard that they roll the vehicle. If they didn't have ABS, then the vehicle would lock up, and not move anywhere slamming into whatever is in the way with a higher chance of occupant survival...
