9" or 10" clutch??? What do i have? 53 Chevy 3100
Hi, i have a 53' chevy 3100 w/ the original 216 motor (3 on the tree) and need to replace the clutch. They list a 9" and a 10" does anyone know which one my truck would have so i don't order the wrong one?? Thanks...

p.s. does the clutch have any adjustment to it, mine wont engage like it use to? it's getting really hard to shift and grinding gears??? thanks for any info...

Don't know what size clutch you may have but clutch adjustment is simple.
If the linkage is stock there is a dog leg on the clutch release fork. That has 2 nuts - one on each side. Loosen the outer one & tighten the inner one to remove slack. I adjust mine to have about 1/2 " free play where the rubber block on the arm hits the floor board. Good luck. Maybe you don't need a new clutch |
