lowered my buddy's swb s/s on 22's today....
Just thought I would throw a couple pics up. One of my buddies has been dying for a C-10 ever since I got mine. I found him this one for an easy trade. Then we found him some 22's for $200. Talked him into buying a 3/5 set of springs on black friday from brothers for $88/set. Got around to dropping the rear today in about 2 hrs. Ran into a few little issues, like having to cut off the bottom bolts. I think it looks pretty decent for a couple hours worth of work. Just need to build him an adjustable track bar now, and we should be good to go on the rear! Tomorrow I will do the front, wire up a 12si alternator for him, and cut out and weld in new inner and outer rockers (which were also on sale for Black Friday for $20 for inner and outer combined!)

Sweet truck. I'm going for that same stance. I wanna see the finished product. What size of tires is he running? I also would like to know if you run into any issues when driving it around with that set-up.

Ha! Thanks. He's not much of a mechanic, and this way, instead of having to spend my money on buying more trucks, I can let him do it, and spend HIS money! End result is the same, I still get to work on a new one and drive it around for a bit, but get to give it back when I want my driveway space back!
Cool68, you are correct in the lack of tire height, but I will say, it is amazing how expensive tires for 22's are!! Used ones around here were around 120 each! I don't see him doing that in the near future. I'm still pushing him to save up for an alignment so he doesn't tear up the front end after the drop!

Codez, put the front 3" on without a hitch. Drove around a bit, and the truck felt great, but I didn't get up to any speed, as the rear springs are not completely bolted on (had to get new bolts for the bottom spring cups since I had to cut them off, haven't put them on yet. I also don't want to put too many miles on here without an alignment since he's got bologna wrappers on for tires. All in all, truck looks great, but I would certainly put a 2" block in the rear. The truck has a pretty decent rake with the 3/5. Let me know if you have any other questions, in the mean time I will get those tire sizes for you. Just for comparison, I took his old springs, cut a single coil off, and am putting them on the front of my long bed. I will throw a photo up for you of that as well.
(and please don't judge me for all the Fords in my driveway. The C10 gets the garage space! Sadly, I have 2 more fords that aren't in that pic!)
