87 cab with 73 front end???
Does anyone see any issues with running 87 cab with a 73 front end? will the older hood mount with no issues? I have a 73 frame, and 73 front end, and 73 cab for that matter. Would like to use an 87 cab (in better condition) on this truck. need help from someone smarter than I.

It will work fine. The '73 hood bolts to the fenders, so that is not an issue. The wiper stands are different, and you will probably want to cover the holes where the hood hinges were. I think I would use the wiring from the '87 cab, but that is just me.

I know with the 73 hood it extends to cover the wipers where as the newer hood has a fixed piece. Will that cause me issues? or will I just have to transfer the parts from my 73?

You will pitch the metal cowl grille in the '87 cab. Transfer your '73 wiper stands over, and you should be good. Now is also a good time to replace your body mounts .

Re: 87 cab with 73 front end???
put a 84 with a 76 front. No real issues, you'll have cowl holes where you don't use them and hinge holes but that's just an aesthetics thing or a rain thing. My truck was turned into an egg hauler so it wont see any weather.

Might want to transfer the outer sections of the cowl too. Not only would you cover the hinge holes, but it will allow you to use the factory bolt on stops that hold the back of the hood when its shut.
