best paint for cast iron master cylinder
what would be the best paint for a new cast iron master cylinder and proportioning valve?
something that i could get from an auto parts or a hardware store. don't want them to be rusty in a few months. also any recomendations on brake fluid? i was going to use DOT 3 (which i can get free from work) but i read that DOT 5 won't harm paint. any opinions on this. thanks tommie |

Paint
I primered mine, then sprayer with high temp cast iron color engine paint ( Car Quest Store), but keep in mind, i have found no paint that will stand up to brake fluid if it is allowed to sit on the surface.

I have to agree with 71 Fun, No Paint that we know of Stands up to Brake Fluid, Even chrome etches. thats why they dont make them pre painted But Good luck, make it a color for easy touch up, wash and re paint heheheheh

paint
Sand blast it & then paint it with silver (or whatever color you want) IMRON. It's expensive, but when cured will hold up to chemicals & brake fluid.
