I've never seen a GMC in better condition. It certainly looks better than new.

Q: Are the white wheels correct for GMC? I know Chevy would be black on a truck at that trim/paint level.

This is from a 1965 GMC Data book.

Answer is yes. Only GMC used white rims, Chevrolet used the main Body color on their rims or black.

there was a 302 engine up to 62 but it was not installed in light duty trucks
and it was an I6. rare does seem to be a frequented word used when one is asking money for these vehicles.

Makes you wonder why GMC did not continue offering the 270 I6 in pickups after 1959? In 64, GMC brought back the I6 after a 4 year disappearance.

Quality of the work is very impressive. Hopefully this truck should be a inspiration for those considering a factory type restorations. This GMC 1000 shatters the myth about longbed stepsides.
