Re: would this work on my 70 c10?

You can get a power steering box off of any 2 wheel drive [assuming that is what you have] from 1968- 1987 Chevrolet or GMC truck C10,20 or 30 model. Also the R-V will carry that same box until 1990.[ that is as long as the General made the trucks square. now you must know that some of the newer ones carry a different type of fitting type in the box, it is a metric line but if you get the line for that model truck your good or many companies make an adapter like LEE [they are a industry leader in steering boxes]. Also if you take the the big nut from the back of a newer type pump, that is the pressure regulator it will have the newer type fitting it will screw right into the older pump. Since you don't yet have a pump or box on the truck now and both will have to be bought it might be a good or even a great time to upgrade to a serpentine belt system off of a truck like a 1990 model 350 , they are cheap and plentiful and really look great on our trucks when cleaned up some. That is. 67/68 style setup. If you had a 67/68 truck and were going for originality, I would say this is your ticket. Otherwise I would get a power steering box, pump, pulleys and hoses from a donor truck.

The G-series vans have different steering box, but the control arms will work, spindles too. The Astro vans are akin to the S-series pickups, so not much fits, nice steering wheels, though. Power steering pumps are pretty universal in GM-land.

Ram steering is not correct for your truck and, in fact, I've never personally seen it
on anything newer than a very early 1968 (non-dimpled frame). Follow Hugger6933 and
LEDDZEPP's advice and purchase an entire system locally or shop here on the parts
board for at least the pulleys & brackets that you will need.

There is nothing wrong with the ram steering systems (they were good enough for
Corvettes!) and can be an interesting addition to your truck if you decide to go that route.
A nice write up from member 1967C20 on the subject can be found HERE.
