Idle problems

Just put a new SMI carb on today and the idle is having problems. I set the idle to around 800, but accelerating past 1500rpms or so will cause the idle to 'stick' at that rpm and not go down until I manually pull on throttle lever to return it to its normal position on the idle screw. When I do that I can hear a metallic clicking, like something is catching, but I cant see anything catching in the linkage. Maybe the primary plate is catching? Seems unlikely though since its a brand new carb from SMI

I would just pull it off but of course I just drove to work...

Re: Idle problems

Whoops.... Nevermind. I guess I must have bumped the fast idle cam out of position when I put the carb on. All fixed now

Re: Idle problems

Boy, and I was just going to suggest you probably bumped the fast idle cam out of position when you put the carb on. LOL
