The Budget 64 swb build!
So ive had this project for a month and its a tight budget build. Its a 64 swb step side. Plans are to bag, 100% restore the int, and reassemble. Long story short truck was running and driving before prior owner took it apart. Inline 6 and a 3 speed. Its been a month of craigslist hunting for parts...... Bags, brackets, compressors, tank, nitrogen bottle brackets etc etc etc....see pictures. Whats the budget.... not gonna say cause itl be for sale at some point.

Re: The Budget 64 swb build!
My goodness craiglist is sometimes crazy...... the guy was trying to sell a truck off of a property that he pulled a tax lean on and is just selling off the vehicles..... records of drug busts, immigration, and chop shop history from prior owner. Def negative on that parts truck. Wasted 65 on a trailer rental but feel if i got the parts truck it may have been my life in the future. Tomorrow will be front end strip and take A arms to sand blaster over the week. May try to get running. Pictures coming tomorrow.

Re: The Budget 64 swb build!
Well i got a little bit done today. The entire front end is off. Seems the right front side of the truck went threw mud every day for 50 years while the left side only saw pavemet. Got the right side cleaned up a little tonight. I ran out of sanding disc and was ten. Also went to the local hardware store and got all the nuts and bolts to mount all the front bag hardware.

Re: The Budget 64 swb build!
You going for a hot rod? LS3.
I stuck with the inline. No one really fixes em up.. and the older guys like them.

Re: The Budget 64 swb build!
Prayers for your Dad and family. Going thru cancer is tough on everyone.
The dirt on the right side makes sense since that would be the side that goes off the pavement first...lol!

Re: The Budget 64 swb build!
Its been a few months and dads doing the best he can with the cancer. But I got my taxes in and went a little crazy this week. SO far the front swap, bag mounts, lines, air line, and master cyl. have come in. The little larrys four-play and new moog susp parts are in the mail. Control arms are stripped of joints and shafts and getting blasted this week. Also the seat is in the shop getting recovered with a tuck and roll and a blue flake upper v bar.

Re: The Budget 64 swb build!
Nice Blast Cabinet...
I just blast off in the edge of some woods since I live out in the sticks, but due to loss of material, I've been planning on a walk in portable cabinet… Planning on using existing material I have lying around, may only have to buy some heavy plastic... Any word on Motor yet???

Re: The Budget 64 swb build!
Going to do an LS swap. Going to start with a 5.3 or 6.0 truck motor and when i get it up and running ill swap in a vette engine. The 6.2 i have avail isnt going anywhere and more stack up yearly. I just dont want a vette motor in a frame and cat afford to set it up.
