Re: Anyone getting work done while snowed in?

We got about 6" here this weekend, and it's been cold! I worked most of the day on my truck yesterday, but I can't bring myself to go out to the garage today.

Re: Anyone getting work done while snowed in?

I know this isn't on a 67-72 Chevy, but I got all the sheet metal parts on the CJ-7 I'm restoring ready for epoxy primer this weekend. It does have a small block Chevy in it, so I think it counts.

Re: Anyone getting work done while snowed in?

Well no snow here and not incredibly cold. Was 25 outside and 30 in the shop. Got up to low 50s in the shop later. My honey surprised me and the nephews while were out there working on my truck with hot chocolate and fresh made oatmeal cookies ... she's the best =)

Re: Anyone getting work done while snowed in?

Bottom dropped out on the temps yesterday....
Took one to scrap yesterday then pulled the doors off another for a local board member. Loaded another to go to the scrapper tomorrow. I need to get the windshield and steering column out today before I quit for the day, then in for some garage cleaning.
Doubt I'll get much done in the garage though.
BTW... scrap went up $30 a ton here. Time to clean the yard art out.

Yep it's been the second coldest winter here on record so far. Manitoba is not a friendly place to be right now.

Re: Anyone getting work done while snowed in?

I worked on the new shop itself this weekend. I'm getting close to having it ready to move into. Actually I did move two trucks and a tool box in.

I had foam sprayed in, and it paid off this weekend.

Re: Anyone getting work done while snowed in?

When winter comes work outside stops for me when working on my truck. Wish I had a heated garage. Plus I hate working on vehicles with road salt dripping on me. Come on spring!

Re: Anyone getting work done while snowed in?

Not a thing. I ain't getting nothing done on the truck. I drove it out to the fish house this past Friday before this cold snap. I don't plan to even attempt to start it until Friday when we might actually go above freezing for the first time in a global warming long time.

My indoor/outdoor, battery operated thermometer crapped out at -21F this morning or last night. My mercury was at -31F when I got up for work. I'm not even going to post a wind chill or "feels like" temperature because I'm simply telecommuting today and don't plan to go out until tomorrow at the earliest.

I did put tubes in the concrete in my new workshop. I ran out of funds before I was able to spray foam or run a gas line out there. Maybe next winter I'll have a heated shop.

Re: Anyone getting work done while snowed in?

My garage is true to the phrase "in the dog house". It is going to be around -10* to -15* tonight so I put my two big English Mastiff dogs in the garage so they can have a warm bed... So no work on the truck here but I did take my fenders and hood to my buddies shop to start hanging sheetmetal.......
