Part search, Brake backing plate - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I would like to replace the brake backing plates (sometimes know as a dust shield) on the rear of my 68 GMC 2500, they look pretty well rusted and I am not sure a clean up/ paint job will do it, I checked the usual places, rockauto.com, LMC, but no luck.

I put this pic up just to clarify what I am looking for, Hoping to try and find a new one but if all else fails I will try to clean up my originals.

Try this: It's for disc brakes so I am not sure if it will work.

That is called a backing plate. Disc brakes used the dust shield.

Which rear axle do you have? Dana 60 or the rockwell

I have a nice used set from a 68 3/4 ton if you don't find any new ones.
