Nice bed w/ tailgate
I have this bed from a 70 GMC LWB with a big letter GMC tailgate. The bed is rust free minus avery small amount where the tailgte sit's. The tailgate is rust free and very straight with only miner scratch's. The last tailgate I sold on E-bay for $375, and it was'ny as nice as this one. I'll sell as a whole for $450. Or the gate at $350 and the bed for $200.

...yes, but that's not bad if the tailgate is original and NOT bent to hell. I should know: I have two worthless bent ones and 1 very fine original off of a '71 that will be my tailgate for my project. I spend $300 for it to AVOID aftermarket and new OEM tailgates.

You can't get nice "original" TGs that are heavy gauge and 100% correct like the GM...the repros are not originals...Let the guy try & sell his parts without jumping in and "sharp shooting" him. If you think that is too much then just go ahead and offer a better one at a lower price...ON YOUR OWN THREAD, NOT HIS!

Pick: You are right, it was something that probably wasn't called for. I will take it off.
Cobalt: I didn't think of it like that. Then again, I am looking for a tailgate just like that, but don't have the money for it but wish I did. |

I PM Boytoy and apologized for making the comment that you can buy a new one for cheaper. And told him I was going to delete the post.....

Hey boy toy, How does this tailgate compare to the one I am getting? I may like that one better.

But, I do have two more. 1st one is off of a 71 Chevy. It has a built in tool box in the side that is in great shape, over all, has little rust under the the tool box and along the back where the gate sit's. Tailgate is not included. $175 2nd bed is off of a 68 GMC. Bed is in good shape with very, very, little rust. Tailgate again, is not included. $175 Picture's for those who want's them. |

OK. I'm considering that '71 tailgate you mentioned.
Any details, besides no rust and straight? Pics? I was just looking at the pic's on your "trip" thread. Man, I wish I could get up to your place...I have a 71 Short/Fleet that is in 'dire need' of pieces and parts...lots of little stuff...and a complete bed.
