Tired of Wanta buyer's
I have had 3 different people chase me down in the last week and ask me if I want to sell my S10. It wouldn't bother me to much if they were serious but I don't think they have a clue what it takes to build one like mine. All 3 of them thought they could buy it for 3-5 thousand after spend 30-40 minutes wasting my time asking ?'s I realize I will never get what I have in it but I added it up and I put more into than it's worth but I plan on driving it till it's wore OUT!! The instant throttle response of the 5.3 and the feel of that 700R4 shifting gears just makes me SMILE. Sorry for the Rant

Re: Tired of Wanta buyer's
I totally understand. I get this all the time when I'm out driving my 72' blazer. I know I should feel flattered that they like it enough to want to own it, but usually it just annoys me. If I wanted to sell, I would advertise it. People watch too much Counting Cars

Re: Tired of Wanta buyer's
I enjoy the thumbs up and the Nods and smiles that's for sure. But I'm considering making a "NOT FOR SALE!!!" sign to put in my truck when I'm driving it. I did the same thing already for my wife's 64 stepper. I realize her truck is just a old truck to most people, but it has a rebuilt 350 with a 700R4 and rebuilt rear end with all new brakes. If you add up the cost it would surprise most people how much our toy's cost.

Re: Tired of Wanta buyer's
I hade several people interested in buying my 83 S10 2wd Blazer. I disassembled the firewall and painted/detailed and did a top noth coversion and tried to make it look like s factory installation. The motor has top notch parts and went like a raped ape.It would smoke thr tires throughout every gear. I had people stop almost daily and inqure. I ended up dumping if for 1200 so I didnt have to haul it back upto Washington since it seems that 90% of people who sre interested flake out. I have 86 my Grandmother purchased new that will be hopefull will end up with a 6.0 LS

Re: Tired of Wanta buyer's
There are always people interested that want nice rigs cheap so they don't have to put in the blood sweat and tears. Or they're just trying to strike up a conversation. I would rather have someone ask what's under the hood or talk about one they used to have than insult me with a low ball offer.
To cut the conversation shorter and not waste time, throw out a good price as soon as they ask if you're willing to sell. "Sure, it's for sale for $15k, would you like to take a look at it?" (Or whatever you would be actually willing to take plus a few thousand) I recently got an offer to buy my K20 Burb as I put a picture of the tires I'm selling mounted on it, but once I named my price they never responded. I wonder why?

Re: Tired of Wanta buyer's
I had a kid chase me down Saturday night. He wanted to see my truck up close. He and his brother have a S10 the same year as mine. He took a bunch of pictures and said that they would like to fix theirs as nice as mine. I said just buy mine! I told him I would sell it for $9500.00 , he told me he thought they could duplicate my truck for less. I told him good luck, and to put it on paper first then come and buy mine!!!
