R and R starter

Changing the starter in my 72 w/350 auto.i didn't mark the small wires!one yellow, one purple ,starter has two studs marked r and d ,does it make a diff ??don't want this going up in smoke.

R term should be yellow the other term is s and is purple closest to engine block. If you get them backwards nothing will happen when you turn key
