What size wheels for NAPCO 1/2 ton 1958

My truck has 16" wheels which look to be original. Are these the correct stock size for this truck? Pretty narrow, one of them has a 7.50" wide tire on the rest are smaller. How big of a tire can I get on these? Thanks

I upgraded from the stock 15" wheels and bias ply tube type tires to 16x7" white spokes with tires I took off my Avalanche 265/70R16. The 7" rim keeps everything under the fender.

Your stock wheels don't have a safety bead in the rim so its not a good idea to run radial tires on them.

As far as "How wide a tire" for your wheels, nothing wider then the rim width.

The 16" wheels were standard on all the 1/2 ton NAPCO trucks that came from the factory. My wheels were rusted badly at the beads so I cut the centers out of them. I took f350 16x7 and cut the centers out and welded my centers in. It was not quite that simple but that is what I did. The centers were about 60 thousands smaller so I welded the 4 spots where it connected to the outer rim and turned it down in the lathe. I then bolted the center to an extra axle and put it in the lathe, slid the outer rim on, made sure it was true and welded right on the lathe.

Factory wheel is on the left, f350 wheel in the center, and combo wheel on the right. I did all this because I wanted to retain the factory hub caps. There are wheel companies that will do this for you.

Cool, they look good. I want to keep the factory hubcap look also. I don't have any, but I think I know where can find some.
