LS swap question

so i found a 99 chevy truck with 4x4 for 4500, I'm sure i can get him down to 3500...is this 5.3 not as desirable as the newer ones? or is it pretty good? i seen that bone stock it has 270 which is a lot more than my tired 350 i got in my truck...should i try and score this truck? or just get a engine tranny transfer case by itself?

Re: LS swap question

the cam and tune in them suck doesnt matter if your going to swap it and tune it. is a cable drive throttle body so yo dont need the gas pedal or anything. 3500 for the whole truck?

its going to be easier to swap the 60e. in k10 thats all you need. you def need a 2wd. idk how the 80e bolts to a 208 the 208 it will with a adapter. the 60e is going to be alot cheaper and alot cheaper to drive around on top of that. if you concerned about breaking it drop a shift kit and vette servo in it for a 100 bucks while you have it out.

Re: LS swap question

Here in MI , $2k wil get you 150, 000 mile 5.3 with PCM and trans. Pickup drive trains are not the big power versions (like the Camaro stuff) and so can be pretty reasonable. $3500 would get you a 6.0 and posible a 6.2. And you wouldn't have to deal with the left over truc, which is worth mebbe $500.

5.3 is a fine motor. Just not as much HP as 6.0, and certainly not a 6.2.
