Hooks and trannys - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Iv'e looked around some and haven't found the answers I'm looking for. First I have a set of hooks Part# 596369-70 Which are supposed to be the early 60s hooks. I pulled these off of a 57 6100 series truck. The way they fit through the bumper brackets and the bolts used they seemed to be factory. Were these used before 1960? If they were added they fit perfect and were added a long long time ago. I had to torch the bolts.
Second, I'm looking for a 5 speed trans with OD and an E-brake that will bolt into my 72 C-30 that has a 465 with E-brake. Any suggestion?
