I need to get my gas tank out of the cab question?
Hello, can I get some advice from you guys on what's the best way to go with a under the bed gas tank? I have a chop top short bed C10 fleetside and need to get the tank out of my cab for leg room purposed, is a after market aluminum style tank or a suburban or blazer style tank best? I want to put it behind the rear end thx for any advice

I did the 69 Camaro tank for my 67. Here is the link that I used.

Let me know how heavy that stock gas tank feels when you pull it out. I'm doing an LS swap so won't be using the stock tank either, but I may just leave it bolted in place as long as it is not ridiculously heavy. Are you really going to get more legroom? The top portion of the back of my bench seat already hits the cab when I have it pushed all the way back.

Re: I need to get my gas tank out of the cab question?
I had one welded for mine. It is fairly simple 20" by 10"-12" by frame width. with angles welded to the sides to mount it to the frame rails, and baffles inside. Then welded the original filler neck on and cut a hole in the wood bed. I will cover the hole later. Use a pick up system of your choice (I used one from a 79 chevy pickup). My tank holds around 17 gallons I think you could hold 12-13 and be flush with the bottom of the frame. Also if you don't want to delete the gas cap. I welded a nut to the back of my gas cap and used a metal spacer on the inside squeezing the rubber grommet between the spacer and the gas cap to fill the hole. most people assume it is still the gas cap, and get confused when they see the one in the bed.
This is the best I have of the "fake" gas cap. Please ignore the weird looking fella

no I'm not smart enough to think of that....LOL I think I'm just going to go with a custom welded style and a filler in the bed floor
