need a little help with glove box
cab some of you more experienced builders shed a little light , what is the best way to install a new replacement glovebox ( the cardboard unit), its like trying to fit a tuna can in a pepsi can , do I need to remove heater core , I sure didn't want that , the delapedated one came right out , from the mouth the new one dosent quite want to , any help would be grateful , this is a ac cab 1972 thanks again kevin

I've done it twice.... no particular good method that I know of, just push & strain until you think you're gonna ruin it and eventually it goes in. Not one of GM's greatest designs for sure. Good luck. Have a beer or three when you're done.

Here is how I do mine. Look at the AC coupling for the center vent and roll it as far forward as you can.
Take the drivers side of the new insert and start at a angle into the opening. While gently pushing down on the top of the insert. Then work your way all the way around it. You may want to take the upper clasp out as well that the glove box door catches on. Then screw it back in once done. PS did you get the cluster today?

andy, thanks for the hints , no the cluster didn't make it I just check routing , says salt lake , that meens it will be tomorrow , im just trying to get other side done so when it arrives , all new ac and defrost tubes and controls , man I still cant find the hole for the radio , where the hell does the lite plug in , I bumped it out and I fill like im reading brall anyway ill let you know thanks again kevin

Are you talking about the AC control bulbs? If so they go in the far side and the drivers side of the controller. I don't know about any radio bulbs.

heck maybe that's it I must be loosing my marbles , I seen the one pluged in and just figured the other was up in the radio , digging out all the old stuff things got moved you know how that is thanks kevin
