Charcoal canister
I was wondering if anyone had any good references on how lines from charcoal canister to carb and intake would be ran.... strong scent of gas in exhaust and notice only line was from gas tank....pics would help a a lot.

scent of gas in exhaust means you are running rich, charcoal canister is just to keep vapors from fuel tank out of the cab and out of atmosphere, it has nothing to do with exhaust,

I have one from the tank and one from the vacuum on the carb. I'm not sure if that's correct but the previous owner kept the engine totally stock "except" the carb

Here's a few illustrations of how the gas tank is connected to the charcoal canister and the line to do so. Ingnore the comment in red on the tank picture. The charcoal canister is marked where the lines or hoses go.

Only thing I know about them is if you take it out and shake it and it doesn't rattle it isn't any good..... There are threads about rebuilding them and purchasing new ones on here somewhere. LockDoc
