hot lead on fuel pump relay fried. fuel injection

hot lead on the fuel pump relay melted and fried the relay. all grounds are tight. any other ideas to what could have caused this? any help would be great!

a tiny hot lead with poor contacts

Wires melt from too much current flow.

This could be from not enough circuit resistance {shorted load or wire).
