Freshened up the Tailgate Paint

My grandfather used this truck and as such the tailgate was fairly scuffed up and scratched (like a 3/4-ton farm truck should be ). I scuffed, primed and sprayed it Saturday and it turned out really nicely. Medium Green 518 still matched perfectly after all of these years. Also repainted the GMC emblems on the front fenders. They were pretty faded.

Scuffed

Primed

Sprayed

GMC recoloring

Looking good, that GMC emblem really pops now.

Used a paint pen. Works great if you have a steady hand.

The truck looks great. What's a paint pen and where did you get it? Thanks for posting.

Re: Freshened up the Tailgate Paint

Any hobby store will have paint pens. I think I picked mine up at Hobby Lobby a few months ago.

Re: Freshened up the Tailgate Paint

If you get some on the chrome, don't worry. Have a rag to wipe it off. Comes right off if you gently dab at it.
