One Ton Pic Request (Rear Frame) PICS ADDED!!!
Does anybody have a pic of a one ton truck (133" wheelbase) with no bed on it? I specifically need a pic of the frame from behind the cab to the end of the frame. I have '71 ton, and I need to verify number and location of crossmembers. I think I may be missing a few.
Thanks in advance. BBB Last edited by BigBlockBurris; 03-23-2014 at 05:53 PM. |

Picture enough or do you need a drawing?
Send me your email if you need it (fullsize).

Thank you both for the reply.
The pic Tim put is exactly what I was hoping for. I am missing the rear most crossmember. Thanks again! BBB |

Tim,
Thank you again. That rear cross member is exactly the one I am missing and that I need. Got one? Thanks! Alex |

Re: One Ton Pic Request (Rear Frame)
Guess someone thought that the receiver hitch was enough.
As far as locating one. Dude, I live in California. However Jenn and Jeremiah King may very well have one but shipping could be expensive to NC. www.kingstrucks.com They are members here on the board jeremiah king http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/member.php?u=41714 Might be best to find a local cut off frame section and someone to huck fasten the crossmember into your truck.

Re: One Ton Pic Request (Rear Frame)
Tim-I know shipping would kill the deal, I was just picking.
I have looked local with no luck. Thanks again for your pics, and help. It appears that whoever removed mine, did a neat job, thank goodness. I hope to find another to put back. I agree, the hitch is not enough. BBB |

Re: One Ton Pic Request (Rear Frame)
Good point!
Looked it up in the parts manual and the service part only fits 30s and 133"wb 20s (Longhorns). There are different numbers for 10-20 applications. Good news is the part seems to backfit to 1955.

Re: One Ton Pic Request (Rear Frame)
What you need is a frame with the inside measurement of about 4.25'' and a center to center on the back most rivet of 31''. I just measured my longhorn x-member

Re: One Ton Pic Request (Rear Frame)
Here are the couple pics of mine, Sorry but I've got a fuel tank sitting there. fit nicely inside the frame rails so it doesn't roll.
