Re: Brake ?
No, you do not need a proportioning valve with 4 wheel drum brakes as long as you use a drum/drum master cylinder.

Also do you know if I need shock relocation brackets if I lower the rear 4 inches with lower springs? And do I need an adjustable track bar? Thanks for any info. |

Re: Brake ?
I don't know how safe that would be with a disc/drum master operating a drum/drum system. I have never done that. Why not just install the booster with the correct master for drum/drums? The master is only $15-20.00.
I don't know about the shocks or panhard bar, never lowered a truck with coils in the rear.

Re: Brake ?
I'll cover the rear question. No you do not need to move the shocks. you do need a set of shocks that are shorter. At 4" I did the track bar on mine. It is needed to get the rear back in the middle. If you have plans to go lower in the future get the long track bar that goes all the way over to the trailing arm. I did the drum drum power conversion on my 66 and used the parts recomended by Captianfab and it works great. I also have most everything to do the disc and will change the master cylinder and install the proportioning valve then.

Re: Brake ?
Look on CPP's web site for the track bar and the shocks. There is a lot of info in the suspension section on botht he track bar and the shock choices. Not sure on monroe numbers. I used KYB. What ever you do DO NOT RUN A DISC BRAKE SETUP with the drum brakes. This is safety issue and will greatly affect the way the brakes work. If you want power brakes now do it they way is should be and be safe.

Re: Brake ?
Just do like Captain Fab and PG said- buy a drum/drum master cylinder at the parts store for $20, install it on your booster for now, then when you upgrade to discs, then switch master cylinders to the one that came in your kit and install the prop valve then.
