What tire sizes everyone running with 20's

Wondering what tire sizes anybody is running with 20's all the way around. I have 20x8.5 in front and 20x10 in the rear. Also what tire make have been looking at Toyo's. Just looking for some input if you have a pic that would be great too.

Pretty sweet. Did you have to do a c notch? I originally ordered a 3/5 drop from CPP and then they told me I would need a c notch if I went that route. So I went with the 2/4. Got the front done, and now got to do the back. I put one of my 20's on the front today just to see how it looked and now it doesn't look like I dropped it at all. I think the tires are too big. They are 275/55/20's. They came with the wheels when I bought them. I think Im digging your tire size. Do the tires appear too narrow for the 8.5" wheels or anything? Maybe I should do 275/45? IDK. LOL. Kinda stuck on what to do for tires.

I did not c-notch it. I removed the bump stops and I have about 2 1/2 inches of clearance between the rear end housing and the frame rail. I have never bottomed out, but my truck is not used to haul anything but my butt. The dropped shocks that came with my kit are definitely stiff enough to help keep it from bottoming out.
The 245/45/20 is a stock tire size for the Dodge Charger (at least in 2006 it was) so I went with it so I could rotate them. On the Charger they used 9 inch wheels. I don't think the tires look to narrow on the wheels but I would not go any narrower though.
My 245/45 tire is 28.6 inches tall and 9.6 wide, and the 275/45 is 29.7 inches tall and 10.8 wide. 1 inch taller over all.
When I need new tires I probably will go with a 275/40 tire which is 28.6 tall but is 10.8 inches wide.
I hope this all helped your decision.

The tires I'm using are in my sig. If you're not running bags or 5/7 drop, I doubt you'd want tires as short as mine. Check out summit racing, they have good deals and free shipping.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I am getting ready to purchase 255 40 20s and 295 40 20s for my 72. What are your opinions after having the toyo proxies? Traction, tire wear, ride? With a 420 tire wear rating, I'm worried their hard tires that will just get roasted under full throttle.

Thanks! I live in W Cola and used to own S &S Art Supply. You may have seen it sitting on State Street not moving until I bought her two years ago and started fixing her up. I should be at ProAuto's open house next Saturday on Gadsen St. if you want to chat.

Re: What tire sizes everyone running with 20's

Was running 295/40/20 on the rear... switched to 295/45/20 for a little more sidewall. I ended up widening my wheel wells for a better fit. 18's on the front though.

Re: What tire sizes everyone running with 20's

We use Nitto NT420-S 255/40/20's and 285/40/20's on our customers trucks (fleetside with wide rear end and 5.50 BS 20X10 / 20X8.5 5.25 BS front) , make for some nice sizes. Nitto doesnt offer a 295/40/20 in the NT420-S or I would probsbly run them in the rear.

Re: What tire sizes everyone running with 20's

I can tell you from experience, 295/45/20 is a little tight with a 20x10 and 5.5" BS on the wide rear housing. I guess it depends on how low you run it. I was at 6" spring and 2" block and it rubbed a little when turning into a steep driveway or the local burger joint if the entrance was at an odd angle. (Hard to describe)

Not sure on your backspacing but .. I'd suggest 255/40/20 and 295/40/20 as others have. Toyos are good looking tires. My next ones will be Toyos. (Proxes STII)

Yep. What he said. My 295/40/20's rubbed and I was running a (60" wide) camaro rear end which is more narrow than stock. I just swapped in a narrowed 9" (58") and widened my wheel tubs 1.5" to run my 295/45/20's. BFG KDW's . Its an awesome looking tire.
